I have listed the configuration below for review. I have configured one on but haven’t pulled the trigger because I am not sure I have everything I need in it. What I am looking at is either building or purchasing a new server for Plex only. I have another 4 remote users (my office, my phone, my ipad, etc) I have about 12-18 Plex clients in my home, mostly Apple TVs and Roku Boxes. Third, a Lenovo M93P Tiny with i7 processor (transcoding works but this is below the hardware I desire).
Second, a Synology 1515 with arm processor and again no transcoding. First, a QNAP EP1080 NAS with xeon processor (I understand transcoding doesn’t work). I currently have Plex Server running on three devices. The problem is I don’t know exactly what that hardware would be.
I am a longtime Plex user and have decided to build/buy the ultimate server for Plex.
